New Features In August
The engineers at 10to8 have been busy the past month. In August, we released improvements to our booking flow, how we take payments, the styling of emails, and a new way to sync up dozens of third-party calendars in one go.

⭐ Feature Highlight Of August ⭐
“Strong Customer Authentication” Compliance
On 14 September 2019, new strict EU rules come in around taking payments online by card. The new regulations require additional checks on cards by banks in order to successfully take charges for goods and services. Without these additional checks being carried out, payments can be rejected.
With Stripe, 10to8 Appointment Scheduling Software is compliant with the new regulations, so that you can continue taking payments online without disruption. 10to8 also supports 3D Secure, an authentication mechanism that increases the security and safety of payments taken online for your customers. All these changes will increase the proportion of successful payments.
You may have heard that the new regulations are going to be gradually phased in over the next 18 months. While this is true, 10to8 is ready for the transition already so you do not need to make any changes to be compliant.
This feature, of course, is available on all plans. If you haven’t been taking payments thus far, but you want to get started, head over to ‘Set Up’ followed by ‘Taking Payments’.
Editing Email HTML Content
You can now edit the raw HTML of the emails sent by 10to8. If you decide you want to completely change the layout, you can now do so and have all emails, from confirmations to reminders, use your new styling.
We strongly recommend using a third-party tool for generating the HTML, since writing email HTML is not for the faint of heart! We recommend BeePro, which we use ourselves and find it very intuitive.
The HTML that you produce will be used by 10to8 for sending all sorts of messages, including confirmations and reminders. You do not need to write a different template for each one, as the template will be copied over.
This type of customization is available on the Basic Plan and above and you can find the feature under ‘Messaging’ > ‘Email Styling’.
Booking Flow Progress Indicator & Shopping Cart
Your customers can now see their progress in the booking flow when they come to book an appointment with you. This is shown by a progress bar at the top of the booking flow and includes Service > Where > When > Details. Your customers can quickly go back through the flow to correct their information before placing a booking. Our research has found that by indicating the number of steps the customers have to take, they are much more likely to actually finish placing a booking.
Also, your customers can now place multiple bookings in a single session. When they have entered their details into the booking flow, they can click “Add another Booking”, to repeat the process. Once they have selected a few bookings and are ready to pay for them all (if you take payments), they can pay for the whole course. This significantly reduces the number of clicks required to make complex booking arrangements, and means they do not need to enter their details multiple times. It also means you will receive one payment for the whole series, instead of one payment for each booking individually.
As this is a highly requested feature, and we are sure it will help with customer retention, we made it available on all plans!
Booking Page “no-slots” help
You can now write a message to be shown to your customers who are unlucky and can’t find a slot to book with you. This message appears in a small popup when no slots are available for your customers. It supports markdown so that you can include links to your website, to join a mailing list or contact you. Whatever it takes to avoid losing the customer, right?
10to8 Enterprise Connect
If you are an administrator at a business where your staff members use Google or Exchange calendars, and you want to synchronize these calendars in 10to8, you can now do this in a couple of minutes.
The setup process is almost identical to when you synchronize a single 10to8 calendar, except that you now need administrator access on your Google Apps or Exchange account. Once you have linked the two together, 10to8 will automatically identify user accounts in Google or Exchange, and link these to staff accounts in 10to8. Then, you will be able to decide exactly which calendars are synchronized and how.
This significantly reduces the amount of setup required to make 10to8 synchronize calendars properly. It also means you can manage these synchronizations centrally, without each member of your team having to set it up themselves.
