Shreve Island be could described as "Shreveport's Neighborhood School" because, in addition to those living in our attendance zone, hundreds of families from all over Shreveport choose to bring their children to Shreve Island for a unique educational experience. We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of diverse learners in a family-like atmosphere. Shreve Island is the only school in Caddo Parish to follow a year-round calendar. As an accredited Franklin-Covey Lighthouse School, we utilize the Leader-in-Me curriculum to inspire and develop leadership qualities in every child. These qualities are based on the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. High academic standards and leadership skills have been, and will continue to be, a priority of Shreve Island Elementary School.
